Size: 340 SF

The client, whose long time hobby has been wood-working, had out grown his double car garage shop and desired an insulated location to continue his projects through the winter months.
Conventional light wood frame construction was employed on a poured concrete slab with radiant floor heating. Placed on the concrete slab is a concrete block masonry curb was used to step up around the existing grade and to provide a dam proof surface.
In regards to space conditioning, the building is fully insulated and has operable windows for natural light as well as for natural ventilation. An 8 foot by 8 foot insulated garage door was incorporated for ease of moving material as well as to allow for woodshop function to extend to the exterior concrete pad and beyond. For storage space the ceiling joists that tie the roof and walls together was finished with plywood and made into a storage loft.
