The Stone Church is an urban church for all ages however, the church nursery had
been neglected for many years. The nursery renovation was designed in a way that
lends itself to an additional alteration for a day-care conversion to serve the larger community. The space received all new finishes and the bright colours reflect those vibrant colours used in Dr.Zuess books. Flower and butterfly decals the height of a child were incorporated for safety on the glass screens and another element the scale of the child is the peep hole in the entry gate. The support spaces were reworked to accommodate a small kitchenette, a sleeping room and nursing room while providing for an enlarged play area. Existing wood/tempered glass screens where reused to allow for surveillance of the children and the sleeping room has sound insulation in the walls and narrow window slots to allow nursery staff to have an eye on the sleeping
children.
